Friday, 1st March 2013

Hello

A couple of us are meeting to chat, test the acoustics, coffee facilities and have a wee sing. It’s to discuss ideas for a singing group, meeting on a Friday from 1.30-3.00pm at the Milner Hall, St Peter Street, Winchester. So this Friday, 1st March, I have taken the Milner Hall. You are very welcome to come and sing, chat, have coffee, give ideas. It’s very small and informal and all are welcome.

Much love

Marie

Meeting 7.30 -9.30 pm

We are meeting a half hour earlier, starting tonight 19th February 2013. We have the professor of musicology from Winchester University coming tonight to talk with us about our experience of Space for Peace at the Cathedral. Then we are into practicing for tomorrow, for the sound man coming next week and for the 16th March. So a very focused evening and next week we need all for the recording. The choir paid £4 each for this recording way back in December, so we will do it next week. All acapella songs – it will make sense when you see and hear what we have planned for the DVD.

Tomorrow,20th Feb. all details have been sent by email, only parking to be discussed tonight. All else arranged.

16th March, an eclectic evening which is looking good. We meet 5.15 at Winchester uni for rehearsal at 5.30pm, free for half hour to watch the other acts performing, pipe band etc, we get together at 6.30pm for the concert starting 7pm. I went to the uni on Friday and I must say, if they can pull it off, it will be a fab evening. Get tickets for loved ones now, as they are selling fast.

That’s it. See you tonight.

Hello new website

Welcome to the new EFC website – we just need the name and to get all the areas fine-tuned. It’s not quite ready yet but getting there.

Thank you to Stefanie who has put a lot of work into planning, developing and bringing this new website to life. Stefanie has now returned to Germany but hopefully will be back with us very soon. She will continue to develop the website and oversee all the unknowns that crop up.

I also want to thank Dave and Charlotte for all the time and work put into developing an earlier website, which has been dormant as we couldn’t get a members page, and for the encouragement and support to get on with it!

Stefanie joined the choir and offered to develop a website with a member’s page, a definite requirement. She set about doing just that – and suddenly Stefanie had the prototype prepared and ready to be viewed. Thank you Stefanie for all the time, effort and kindness spent on the EFC choir – we very much appreciate your wonderful talent and support. We’ve still got a wee bit to go so bear with us – we are getting there.

Please comment – if you like, don’t like, think something needs amending etc. Feel free to comment, we want to get this site right.
